| | |  | General Information |  | | | | Photographing Glass Glass tends to reflect whatever is around it - especially when taking photos of it. Depending on the lighting conditions at the time we take the pictures - and the location - you MAY see reflections and/or lighter areas. These are either reflections of the photo lights that we use - OR reflections from the camera flash - OR the outdoor surroundings when we take photo’s outside. We’ve eliminated much of this in many cases but sometimes there are areas that appear as white or shiny patches in the picture. In most cases these reflections are easy to see - and actually show you some of the 3 dimensional qualities of the glass piece being photographed. Please be aware however - that if visible - These reflections are NOT part of the design, but do indicate what the eye might see when a piece is mounted or when iridescent glass is used in design. Glass is impossible to reproduce accurately in ANY picture - no matter how hard we try! We come very close most of the time - but each piece is still MUCH better in person - with LOTS more Depth, Texture, Iridescensce (when we use iridescent glass) Sparkle and Shimmer! Some photo's may show flaws and bubbles in the glass. This is intentional as we tend to use glass which has an architectural renovation quality to reflect the glasses used in the past. Please note that different monitors may show the picture colours with slight variations due to the differences in monitor settings. Product Sizing To give customers a better idea of product sizes the Garden Glass Works uses the Metric system for sizing products. For customers information and size comparison 1/2 inch = 12.5 mm and 1 inch = 25 mm. Pricing Policy At the Garden Glass Works our prices reflect the fact that we design and hand make most of the items we sell, excluding the glass itself! However, there are times when we feel our collection is incomplete, and for these pieces we purchase either directly from the artist or via a wholesaler to offer our customers a wider range of pieces. This fully explains why one piece may appear to be exceptionally good value against another piece. We do promise to provide pieces of good value and good quality throughout our web site and we can do this because we do not incur the costs of a high street shop and trade solely via our studio, the internet and the telephone. Whilst every care is taken to ensure that all prices stated on our Web Site are correct, we reserve the right to amend prices, especially when a price has registered as £0.00 on the input of a new product or as a result of a technical failure to our Web Site.
The Web Site Explained Log In This is for preferred customers who have registered with the Garden Glass Works to allow them to log in instantly and access information such as wish lists, account details, current orders and purchases, past orders, etc. We would encourage all our customers to register with us as it makes the purchasing process so much more useable. However, if you don’t wish to register as a preferred customer you are still very much at liberty to purchase from us. Create an Account This allows our customers to register as preferred customers and place their details on file with us. Links within descriptions On most pages of the web site there are descriptions, explanations, images, information and general text. Where there are links within those text or images to other pages or larger photo's they will either be underlined in the case of text or outlined in the case of images. The text colour will change when you roll your mouse pointer over it indicating that this is a link to another page or image within or outside our web site. To follow the link simply click on it when the text or image outline has changed. Product Images
When you have navigated to a product listing or series of product listings you can obtain a full product description and a larger image by either clicking on the product name or on the image included in the product lists. Stock Levels The vast majority of the pieces on our web site available for purchase are unique designs, individually hand made, original “Gloria” glass art pieces, so the stock level shown against each piece in the description or sales information is more than likely to be ‘1’. This indicates that the piece is available for immediate purchase. Where the stock level indicator is showing ‘0’ it means the piece has been sold and we haven’t yet updated the product details for that piece and removed it from the web site. We will seek to retrieve any monies owed to us, as a result of fraudulent cheques or those with insufficient funds presented to our bank, and we will pass all costs involved in the retrieval of such monies on to the offending customer.
